Have you met Quinoa?

Well, have you?  She's beautiful and funny; perhaps a little sarcastic at times. Some would even call her a shallow snob. Call her what you want, she has the world's most amazing wardrobe and hair stylist, all her friends are beautiful and she has visited some amazing places.

Go and meet her for yourself here, you'll love her!

Happy Friday!

Just an Old Fashioned Kind of Girl

Call me old fashioned but I love to see little girls wearing ribbons and bows in their hair.

Does your little girl wear a bow in her hair? To be honest, I love adding a hair ribbon to my ponytail. It makes me feel a little bit proper and put together. Maybe it's because if I have time to tie a ribbon in my hair in the morning I must be on top of things. Right?

Thank you Oscar de la Renta for keeping the bow love alive!

Star Gazer

Is there anything better than lying underneath the stars with your little people? Find a lucky star and make a wish tonight!

1. The Bobo Choses star tee is perfect for making a wish on a falling star.
2. Keep them warm outside with a Hackett scarf.
3. Vans Overspray shoes give an ethereal feel.
4. You can't get more comfortable than a pair of Little Fashion Gallery jersey knit pants.

Once Upon A Time...

...there was is the most beautiful online store called Stars in a Jar.

To be honest, they had me at the name! However, the fairy tale doesn't start and stop there. Stars in a Jar is filled with dreamy and unique clothing and decor items for little girls and boys. It is clear Maiko and Camilla, the Norwegian Mums behind Stars in a Jar, have put much thought and love into selecting the range they carry, as the story they are telling is a beautiful one. This is a boutique for anyone who believes in fairy tales!

Here is a small selection of my favourite pieces from their beautiful collection. While you're shopping, make sure you look for the Blafre aprons - you'll wish they came in your size!

My Son Hates His Bedroom

Do you love your children's bedrooms?  Or do you wish they were a little less "quick, shut the door so I don't have to look at it!" Up until a few months ago one of our bedrooms was a bit like that. Although the house previously belonged to a designer who had great taste, I couldn't fully appreciate the turquoise and yellow colour scheme.

The boys loved it of course, but my eyes hurt whenever I went near it.  And let's be honest, I'm spending more time in there (tidying!) than either of those two! I pulled out the can of white paint and five coats later I put the brush down and swore I couldn't see any turquoise peeking through...well I couldn't when I squished up my eyes.

One of my darling boys took one look at their fresh, clean, peaceful new-look bedroom and screamed at me. He hated it. Really hated it. I didn't mind, it wasn't giving me a headache anymore. Subsequently, I've added black triangles on the wall which I love. Apparently he hates triangles too.

For the sake of happy, well adjusted children my plan of attack is to buy Megan Morton's latest book, I Love My Room. The woman's a genius. I've already started practicing my curtsy's for the day we meet. I am positive once I inject some Megan Morton Magic into the bedroom I won't be able get the boys out of it.

In the meantime, have a look at some of my favourite bedrooms found on Pinterest.

Welcome to Aussie Rules! Each week I will highlight an Australian brand that has caught my eye and introduce you to some amazing creations and talent.

How can I not start with Tutu Du Monde?  Tutu Du Monde has been written about at length by almost every children's fashion writer and featured in almost every children's fashion magazine.  It does, however, deserve all this attention.

Tutu Du Monde is everything whimsical, romantic and enchanted. A ballerina's dream.

What I find most fun about Tutu Du Monde is you are able to style a complete outfit from their online store; from hand beaded hair pieces to the leather Manuela de Juan shoes they are now stocking.

Mischka Aoki

Mischka Aoki is one of my favourite luxury brands.

The fabrics and embellishments are exquisite. The designs are completely original. And best of all, your little girl will look and feel like a princess.

Yes, their "show stopper" dresses are amazing, but have a look at the hidden treasures in their current, Spring 2013 range. White Little Daisy is my favourite little gem.

I had the pleasure of styling a Mischka Aoki shoot with Stefan Gosatti, Vicki Alridge and three of the most beautiful little girls. So pretty.
